Brian Friedman introduces The Main Event

Creative Director, Producer and Choreographer Brian Friedman recently announced the launch of The Main Event, a global dance brand uniting some of the greatest icons of the dance world. Its inaugural event will kick off this August 3-5 in New York City.

The Main Event will include workshops (“Icon Experiences”), a fashion/dance extravaganza (“The Ball”) and a one-night-only engagement (“Encore”) to wrap the weekend up.

Friedman commented, “I have spent more than 25 years in the dance convention world. Growing up as an aspiring dancer who dreamt of ‘making it big’, I would fantasize about training under the people who created the iconic performances that I obsessed over. This is why I created The Main Event, for the dancers of this generation.”

He continued, “When you walk through the doors, you’ll be transported to a safe environment where anything is possible. Through artistic exploration with legendary icons as your guides, The Main Event is unlike anything you’ve ever attended and I know you will be blown away by the magic that will unfold.”

The legendary icons include Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, LaurieAnn Gibson, Tyce Diorio, Tessandra Chavez, Tricia Miranda and Mandy Moore. With Friedman teaching as well, this adds up to eight celebrated dance artists guiding attendees through more than eight hours of dance exploration per day.
