Dance Theatre of Harlem on tour in 2015/16

Dance Theatre of Harlem 2015-2016 Season Tour DatesThe legendary Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH), led by Artistic Director and D.C. native Virginia Johnson, is bound for Washington D.C. this weekend as the first of its 19-city tour this 2015-16 Season.

The 11-member troupe will perform at Washington Performing Arts Society’s Sidney Harmen Hall on Friday and Saturday, October 9 and 10. WPAS, a 2012 National Medal of Arts recipient, first presented the world-famous company in 1972. In 2013, when DTH resumed touring after a nine-year hiatus, audiences couldn’t get enough.

After last year’s successful national tour, DTH is back at it, with plans to visit Buffalo, NY, and New Orleans, LA, this fall in between its local “Sunday Matinee” performances in NYC.

In the New Year, the company will tour to: Newark, NJ; Charlotte, NC; Macon, GA; Augusta, GA; Columbia, SC; Durham, NC; Bolivia, NC; Detroit, MI; Indianapolis, IN; South Bend, IN; Omaha, NE; Greenvale, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD; the Virginia Arts Festival; and Princeton, NJ. It will present its New York Season on April 6, 8 and 9 at New York City Center.

Dancers represent four different states and four countries. For more information, visit www.dancetheatreofharlem.org.
