Footprints Festival highlights modern dance

FOOTPRINTS: A Modern Dance FestivalAmanda Selwyn Dance Theatre and the West Side YMCA Community Arts Department will present the third annual FOOTPRINTS: A Modern Dance Festival on May 18-20 at New York City’s intimate Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater, located between Lincoln Center Plaza and Central Park at the West Side.

 

This annual dance festival celebrates innovative works of modern dance from new and established voices in NYC dance. The 2017 line-up includes: Nazmo Dance Collective performing Grimm by Danielle Kipnis; Smashworks Dance Collective performing In Transit by Ashley McQueen; The Mill performing Movers by Megan Paradowski and Lil Arnonff; and Looking Glass by Caitlin Parish.

 

In addition, Six Degrees Dance will present Infinite Reflection by Cecly Placneti; Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre will present Refuge by Amanda Selwyn; Elizabeth Shea Dance will present The Rise of Otherness by Elizabeth Shea; and Amalgamate Dance Company will present The Empowered Women by Alana Urda.

 

Performances will take place Thursday, May 18 through Saturday, May 20at 7 pm. There will be a reception following the Saturday night performance.
