Train with Ad Deum this spring

Spring 2018 Houston Dance Intensive Ad Deum Dance Company, a modern/contemporary troupe based in Houston, Texas, has announced its 2018 Spring Intensive. Set for March 12-16, the intensive is for advanced and professional dancers aged 16 and older.

 

Daily classes include ballet, modern and Ad Deum repertory. Every afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. students can take an elective course, which includes options like jazz, hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, conditioning, tap or contemporary. Dancers can also choose to study Horton, Limon and Graham techniques.

 

In addition to Ad Deum Founder and Director Randall Flinn, the faculty for the 2018 Spring Intensive includes Alicia Graf Mack (former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Principal), Vincent Hardy (former Complexions Contemporary Ballet dancer, current choreographer/teacher with Dance Revolution), Jinyoung Lee Hanley (dance professor at West Palm Beach Atlantic University), Shizu Yasuda (Ad Deum II Artistic Director) and current members of Ad Deum Dance Company.

 

Ballet instruction will be led by Steve Brule, who previously taught at Houston Ballet Academy and the University of Oklahoma, and Richard Bowman, who’s on faculty at American Ballet Theatre.

 

The intensive will be held at West University Dance Centre in Houston and students can stay at the designated host hotel, Four Points Sheraton.

Note that auditions for Ad Deum and Ad Deum II are also held during this week through class observation. If you are interested in auditioning, you will be given more information upon arrival.
